The Project

Left to Right: Sara, Laura, Phil |
We (Laura, Sara and Phil) have been asked by Dr. Elizabeth Hynd, Director of the New Hope Center in Swaziland, to work with
her this summer. The New Hope Center is home to 18 children who have lost all their adult relatives to the AIDS pandemic.
Dr. Hynd and the children organize a festival every year that draws from 500-800 children. She believes that with our experience
in music, art, sports, dance, public speaking and summer camps, we will be able to help plan and run the program for this
event.
When we heard about this opportunity, we immediately responded with a resounding "Yes!" We are very moved by
the stories of the orphans in Africa and we would like to do something to help. So we are going to the New Hope Center in
Swaziland for the month of July, but that is only a beginning. We hope to have opportunities when we come back to spread the
word, especially among teens, that there are people out there who are suffering and everybody who really cares can find a
way to make a difference.
We need your help.
We want to involve our communities, so it's not just our project, but yours as well. You can be a part of our New Hope
for Swaziland project by inviting us to speak to your business, school or group, and by making a donation to send these three
eager Quebec teens to Swaziland.
